Specifying Items & Valuables

The table below demonstrates when your clients need to ensure that their valuables and high value items should be specified on their certificate of insurance.

Remember any valuables and items specified under Contents Cover form part of the overall contents sum insured of £40,000 (increased to £60,000 with Contents Extra).

Specifying Valuables under Contents Cover
What does this include? Items composed of precious metal or precious stones, jewellery, watches, furs, curios and works of art, computer equipment, money or portable electrical equipment other than televisions or radios.
Specify if individual item value is More then £2,000
Item Limit Up to £15,000 in total
Specifying Items under Contents Cover
What does this include? Other household goods, personal effects, freezer contents, furniture, televisions, radios, items kept in the home or domestic outbuildings.
Specify if individual item value is More than £5,000
Item Limit £15,000 for an individual item
Specifying Items & Valuables under Personal Possessions Cover
What does this include? Clothing, baggage, articles of personal use normally worn, used or carried by you or your family including gold and silver articles, jewellery, spectacles, binoculars and telescopes, mobile telephones, keys, guns, private pedal cycles, furs, sports equipment, timekeeping and photographic.
Specify if individual item value is More than £1,500
Item Limit Up to £10,000 (increased to £15,000 with Contents Extra)
