WHERE WE GET YOUR INFORMATION FROM

WHO ARE YOU PROVIDING INFORMATION TO?
When providing details for a policy/service, you are providing your data to the insurer of your policy and the administrator, Paymentshield. For details of your insurer please refer to your policy certificate. Information collected via our websites will be collected and used solely by Paymentshield.
HOW YOUR INFORMATION WILL BE USED AND WHO WE SHARE IT WITH
Your information comprises of all the details we hold about you, your transactions, and includes information obtained from third parties.
In regards to this website, in general you can use it without giving us any information. However, in certain circumstances (e.g. completing online application forms) we will collect and store all the personal information that you enter and submit to us.
If you contact us electronically, such as through this website we may collect your electronic information identifier e.g. Internet Protocol (IP) address or telephone number supplied by your service provider.

CREDIT REFERENCE AGENCIES
To determine premium payment rates at quote, renewal, any future invitations, prevent fraud and check your identity, we may make checks through a credit reference agency. These enquiries will be recorded but will not affect your credit rating. This process will involve some of your information being passed to a credit reference agency. The information will be used by other credit lenders for making credit decisions about you and the people with whom you are financially associated for fraud prevention, money laundering prevention and for tracing debtors. The insurer may ask credit reference agencies to provide a credit scoring computation. Credit scoring uses a number of factors to work out risks involved in any application. A score is given to each factor and a total score obtained. Where automatic credit scoring computations are used by the insurer, acceptance or rejection of your application will not depend only on the results of the credit scoring process.
Insurers pass information to the Claims and Underwriting Exchange Register (CUE) run by the Insurance Database Services Ltd (IDS ltd). Under the conditions of your policy, you must tell us about any incident (such as fire, water damage, theft or accident) which may or may not give rise to a claim. When you tell us about an incident, we will pass information relating to it to the register. We may search these databases when you apply for insurance, in the event of any incident or claim, or at time of renewal to validate your claims history or that of any other person or property likely to be involved in the policy or claim.
We’d like to provide you with information about new products, promotions, special offers and other information which we think you may find interesting. We would like to send you this information via email. You will or will not have given us permission to do this as part of the sales process, which we will act in accordance with. Please be aware registering on any preference services such as the Email preference service, will not impact any marketing we wish to send you, if you have given us permission. Should you change your mind and wish to opt-out of such services you will need to let us know, which can be done by contacting us.

When contacting the Data protection Officer for a copy of your information, you should state if you wish to receive the information from your insurer, the administrator or both. A fee of up to £10 may be charged by each party for each request.
