Support with home emergencies
Our optional home emergency cover can be taken in conjunction with your Paymentshield Home Insurance policy. With one call to the 24-hour helpline an approved tradesperson will be sent to help with a range of domestic disasters which if not dealt with quickly would make your home unsafe, unsecure, or cause a health and safety risk to you or others.help
when you need it most
Home emergency cover provides 24-hour access to an approved tradesperson to resolve a range of emergencies, for example, being completely locked out of the home, pest infestations, or complete failure of the heating or electrics.
Call out charges,
parts and labour costs are covered up to £1,000 with no excess to pay and no limit on the number of claims that can be made.
Home emergency includes...
- Breakdown or failure of the electrical wiring system leaving you without power.
- Emergencies that may leave your property vulnerable or unsafe including uncontrollable water leaks.
- Loss of heating due to failure of your central heating system.
- Damage to the internal gas supply pipe following a gas leak.
It also provides the following:
- Alternative accommodation where the property is uninhabitable.
- Financial contributions if your boiler breakdown is deemed beyond economic repair.
- £40 towards alternative heating if it's not possible to repair your central heating system within 48 hours.
What may not be covered...
Insurance products are designed to cover unforeseen events, and don’t cover every eventuality. For example our home emergency option doesn't cover:
- Any claim related to domestic central heating systems which have not been serviced in line with the manufacturers recommendations
- Drainage in respect of cesspits and septic tanks
- We can't cover certain events which cause damage to properties whilst the property is left unoccupied for more than 60 days in a row
